Life as a PreachFor America Fellow

A Time to Grow and Serve.

Life as a PreachFor America Fellow is a unique two-year experience. You will develop practical ministry skills, pursue education, receive quality formation and mentoring, and actively engage in serving the community and building relationships.

It is also a time of increased agency, reflection, and responsibility, building upon residency-style training to refine pastoral skills, including the study and proclamation of scripture, praying, and spiritual direction.

Best of all, you have time to genuinely explore, grow and make a difference in your community—all while earning a living wage.

Valuable Work Experience.

As a PreachFor America Fellow, you're gaining a lifelong community—a network of mentors, peers, and advocates who offer guidance, open doors, and show up to help you succeed.

It starts with Summer Orientation. Then you will be hired by a flourishing local church and receive a living wage and benefits.

PreachFor also offers additional professional support and access to scholarships toward a Master’s degree at a leading Christian educational institution.

Support & Belonging.

Working and studying is challenging, but you won't do it alone. PreachFor and the host churches surround you with support, mentorship, and a community that truly has your back.

“One of the Church’s most urgent callings today is to raise up the next generation of leaders for the Church of tomorrow. That’s why Pillar Church is partnering with PreachFor—because the investment we make today will shape the Church we will need tomorrow.”

— Rev. Jon Brown
Senior Pastor, Pillar Church, Holland, Mich.

Process.

Universities are PreachFor’s primary source of recruitment into the PreachFor America Fellowship. Campus chaplains, professors, and student ministries know their emerging leaders best. Reflect and pray now about who might nominate you.

Pathway.

PreachFor America Fellows begin their journey with a Summer Orientation to focus on basic discipleship training and building life and work skills. During this time, PreachFor assesses each candidate’s strengths and personality.

Progression.

While working on their Master’s Degree, Fellows do meaningful work in a thriving host church, developing their real-world ministry skills. Our host churches and PreachFor share a commitment to your development and growth.
