Selection Process
Led by Nominations
Becoming a PreachFor America Fellow is a selective process. It starts with a strong nomination by someone who has known you well at university—your professor, chaplain, pastor, or campus ministry leader. Upon further screening, you may be invited to submit an application. The following timeline describes the next steps.
Overview of the PreachFor America Fellowship Application Process:
January and February - Nominations and Applications — Partner campuses nominate up to three candidates each. Applicants submit resume, transcript, references, and essays.
February 28 — Application Deadline
March 1 - 7 - Initial Reviews and Discernment Calls — Files undergo a blind review by assessors.
By March 29 - Final Interviews — Multi-panel interviews to assess applicants.
April 1 - Selection and Offers — Offers extended to qualified candidates and others waitlisted.
April 13- 15 - Host Church Matching — Fellows matched with churches and onboarded for summer launch.
April 20 - 24 - Church Review and Decisions
April 30 - Final Confirmation of Church Placement
Late July - Orientation
August 1 - Fellowship Begins
Campus collaborators (professors, chaplains, pastors, campus ministry leaders) are located at college campuses and universities across the country, and have an in-depth understanding of the attributes of a successful PreachFor America Fellow.
