Selection Process

Led by Nominations

Becoming a PreachFor America Fellow is a selective process. It starts with a strong nomination by someone who has known you well at university—your professor, chaplain, pastor, or campus ministry leader. Upon further screening, you may be invited to submit an application. The following timeline describes the next steps.

Overview of the PreachFor America Fellowship Application Process:

  • January 1 - February - Nominations and Application Submission — Partner campuses nominate up to three candidates each. Applicants submit resume, transcript, references, and essays.

  • March 1 - 8 - Initial Review — Files undergo a blind review by assessors.

  • March 22 - 29 - Finalist Interviews — Multi-panel interviews to assess applicants.

  • April 1 - 7 - Selection and Offers — Offers extended to qualified candidates and others waitlisted.

  • April - Placement — Fellows matched with churches and onboarded for summer launch.

  • July - Orientation and Onboarding

  • August 1 - Begin Fellowship — Fellows move to the assigned city, and begin work at their church.

Campus collaborators (professors, chaplains, pastors, campus ministry leaders) are located at college campuses and universities across the country, and have an in-depth understanding of the attributes of a successful PreachFor America Fellow. If you are outside this network, and wish to nominate an exceptional candidate, please contact Fellowships.
