Meet Xaviere Jones
PreachFor welcomes Xaviere, known as X, to its 2026 Preachfor America Fellowship cohort. X joins us from Wheaton College, where he completed his Bachelor’s in Interpersonal Communication. He has been placed at Brentwood Baptist, a multicampus church in the Nashville area with a well-developed Ministry Residency and tradition of developing ministry leaders.
More about X
For X, Brentwood Baptist offers a unique gateway to ministry in the greater Nashville area. His time there will allow him to explore on-the-ground church work while he pursues graduate study as part of the PreachFor AmericaFellowship.
X’s call to ministry involved early foundations accompanied by testing and resilience. Growing up with parents on a church deacon board, he was introduced to hospital visits and pastoral care at a young age, and by the time he was in kindergarten, he would play-act preaching after church services. However, following a difficult season for his family while he was in middle school, he retreated from the church, releasing mentors’ invitations to a life of ministry. In early high school, a friend invited him to a youth group where he surrendered his life to the Lord, and by the next year it was clear that X was meant to preach. He didn’t know how, where, or to who, but God placed a call on his life that he has followed faithfully

X brings a rich background of leadership to his new role. He has served as a youth ministry resident, a spiritual development coordinator for Wheaton's B.R.I.D.G.E. program, and was a featured speaker at Wheaton College's 2025 Martin Luther King Jr. Symposium. Preaching and coaching are his favorite things, and he’s passionate about bringing elements of his world—like lessons learned from captaining Wheaton’s football team—to life within his ministry.
At Brentwood, X is excited to learn the "behind-the-scenes" of church leadership, and to hone his skills in bringing the transformational truth of Scripture through what he calls the “burden of extending the Word as it was extended to him” to his congregation. Through PreachFor’s emphasis on mentorship, X looks forward to gaining new perspectives from mentors outside his close circle, refining his unique voice as a leader, and rounding his leadership skills as he transitions from youth ministry to working with adults and the rest of the church body. He especially loves Brentwood’s commitment to spiritually healthy leadership. PreachFor is excited to watch X flourish with his new host church.
