| New PreachFor America Fellow Announced
| | | IDENTIFYING. FORMING. EMPOWERING. FUTURE LEADERS FOR THE CHURCH. |
| | We are excited to introduce Xaviere Jones as the second member of our inaugural PreachFor America Fellowship cohort. Following a rigorous selection process of nominations, applications, and interviews, Xaviere stood out for his exceptional leadership, strong character, and deep dedication to ministry. A Wheaton College graduate, his passion perfectly aligns with the core mission of PreachFor, and we are eager to see his impact. Stay tuned as we introduce the remainder of our cohort in the coming days. |

One of the great pleasures of working with PreachFor is encountering young leaders who bring a passion, a fire, a spiritual weight — someone where you just know, deep down, this is a voice that is going to shape the church. That was my immediate reaction to Xaviere “X” Jones. |
When X first entered the pipeline for the PreachFor America Fellowship, his credentials immediately commanded attention. A degree in Interpersonal Communication from Wheaton College, a track record in pastoral care and spiritual development, and the distinction of speaking at Wheaton’s Martin Luther King Jr. Symposium. On the side, he even captained the football team. But as we spoke, I realized his true strength wasn't found in his accolades, but in his resilience. |
X grew up watching his parents serve on a deacon board, and would literally play-preach as a kindergartener. Despite this early formation, hardship led him away from the Church before a radical encounter in high school brought him back home. Home not just to a renewed faith but to a real calling — no roadmap, no pulpit — but a purpose. |
X is a blend of grit and grace, a football captain’s team-first mentality and a shepherd’s gentle voice. When we asked him why ministry had been laid on his heart, he named it his burden — his burden of extending the Word as it had been extended to him. To X, Scripture isn’t a text to be managed or safeguarded; it is a life raft he wants to pass to others. In light of this call he was looking for a residency that wouldn't silo him — a place where he could marry rigorous seminary scholarship with the messy, beautiful reality of ministry. |
That search has led him to Brentwood Baptist in Brentwood, Tennesee, which runs a robust Ministry Residency within its Leadership Institute. The leadership team at Brentwood recognized X’s raw, authentic gift for preaching and his eagerness to learn the mundane, behind the scenes, day-to-day mechanics of running a healthy church. They’re ready to help him refine his unique pastoral voice, and will welcome him to their staff team this September as he steps into this next chapter of ministry. |
I have no doubt that X’s presence will leave a lasting mark on Brentwood, and wherever God continues to lead him. |
